Er kwamen drie overkoepelende thema&#8217;s naar voren: duurzaamheid, technologie en soft skills. Hilde was aangenaam verrast om te horen hoeveel belang het werkveld hecht aan <strong>soft skills<\/strong>, de zogenaamde overdraagbare vaardigheden, zoals communicatieve vaardigheden, &#8216;global competence&#8217;, analytisch en kritisch denken, mensen- en datamanagement, enz. Zelfs binnen het thema <strong>duurzaamheid<\/strong> was er onverdeelde aandacht voor sociale duurzaamheid: hoe kunnen we de juiste werknemers aantrekken en behouden in tijden van schaarste op de arbeidsmarkt? Hoe worden we een werkplek waar mensen willen werken? En ook binnen het thema <strong>technologie<\/strong> lag de nadruk niet alleen op het beheersen van alle technologische tools, maar vooral op het lezen en interpreteren van data, oftewel onze toegevoegde waarde als mens aan alle geautomatiseerde processen. Hilde is blij dat ze deel uitmaakt van twee onderzoekscentra (Global Minds @ Work &amp; Professional Communication in a Digitalizing Society) die zich actief richten op het ontwikkelen van de interculturele, communicatieve en digitale vaardigheden van onze studenten, met als gemeenschappelijk doel het aanscherpen van hun kritisch denkvermogen.
