In dit model wordt Global Competence geconceptualiseerd als de capaciteit om lokale, mondiale en interculturele uitdagingen te onderzoeken; de perspectieven en wereldbeelden van anderen te begrijpen en te waarderen; open, gepaste en effectieve interacties aan te gaan met mensen uit verschillende culturen en bij te dragen aan het collectieve welzijn en duurzame ontwikkeling. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Wetenschappelijke validatie<\/strong><br \/>De GMM is een instrument voor het meten van global competence dat wordt gebruikt door studieprogramma&#8217;s met ambities op het gebied van internationalisering en interculturele competentieontwikkeling. Het kan worden gebruikt door studenten, docenten en professionals. The monitor is gebaseerd op PhD onderzoek. Het lectoraat Global Minds @ Work van Zuyd Hogeschool voert een longitudinaal wetenschappelijk onderzoek uit naar (de ontwikkeling van) global competence. De GMM is ontwikkeld en geoptimaliseerd door <a title=\"Zuyd Hogeschool\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hotelschoolmaastricht.nl\/en\/research\/global-minds-at-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zuyd<\/a> in samenwerking met <a title=\"Etil Research Group\" href=\"https:\/\/www.etil.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Etil<\/a>. De interculturele competentie and ethnocentrisme schalen zijn gebaseerd op onderzoek van o.a. Van Dyne (2007). <strong>Culturele kennis<\/strong> &#8211; of cognitieve CQ &#8211; is een schaal die iemands begrip meet van de regels, culturele waarden, religieuze overtuigingen etc. van andere culturen. <strong>Culturele zelfkennis<\/strong> &#8211; of metacognitieve CQ \u2013 betreft iemands bewustzijn de culturele kennis die mensen gebruiken bij interactie met mensen met een andere culturele achtergrond.<br \/>In de <strong>taalvaardigheidsschalen<\/strong> meten wij welke vreemde talen een gebruiker spreekt (naast zijn moedertaal), en in welke mate hij de taal in verschillende situaties gebruikt.<br \/>De maatregelen voor <strong>duurzaamheidsgedachten<\/strong> zijn gebaseerd op de Engagement\/Disengagement in Sustainable Development Inventory (EDiSDI) van Moreira, Ramalho &amp; De meting voor cultureel gedrag is gebaseerd op het CQ-model van Ang &amp; Van Dyne (Behavioral CQ). Deze schaal meet in hoeverre mensen hun (non-verbale) gedrag aanpassen wanneer dat nodig is tijdens interculturele ontmoetingen. Vervolgens hebben we maten opgenomen over internationale ervaringen (voor onderwijs of persoonlijke doeleinden) en deelname aan internationaliseringsactiviteiten in een onderwijssetting.<br \/>De maatregelen voor <strong>duurzaamheidsacties<\/strong> zijn gebaseerd op de EDiSDI (Moreira et al., 2020). Dit is een cross-cultureel gevalideerd, multidimensionaal instrument dat is ontworpen om de sterke punten en uitdagingen van een student in een interculturele of internationale context te meten. Deze gevalideerde vragenlijst meet de niveaus van culturele empathie, ruimdenkendheid, sociaal initiatief, emotionele stabiliteit en flexibiliteit van een student. Ten slotte omvat de dimensie &#8220;mijn persoon&#8221; ook een meting voor etnocentrisme.
